Open Water Swim Clinics

Sessions Available

The timing for all sessions are at 8.00am to 9.30am.

Description:

For beginners to Triathlons or those just looking to conquer the fear of Open Water Swimming. No prior experience needed, but must be able to swim without assistance and able to thread water when required.

Mandatory things to bring:

  • Swim Wear
  • Goggles
  • Water bottle
  • Sunblock (Optional)
  • Swim Caps will be provided

The swim clinics are conducted by our training partner, The Swimming Room, under the TRI-Factor Engage platform.

Duathlon Clinics

Sessions Available:

  • 7th April – Kallang Leisure Park Carpark
  • 5th August – Kallange Leisure Park Carpark

The timing for all sessions are at 8.30am to 9.30am.

Description:

Cornering confidently in a pack, transiting efficiently from bike to run and vice versa, and pushing your tired legs to keep going are the least straightforward part of a straightforward sport.

Truth is, it is a skill that can be mastered.

Come join us at Kallang Leisure Park Carpark for one hour, to learn the skills that even top international triathlete are still practicing daily, straight from Second Wind Nation’s internationally acclaimed coaches.

  • Helmet

  • Your Smile

The duathlon clinics are conducted by our training partner, Second Wind, under the TRI-Factor Engage platform.

Aquathlon Clinic

Date: 10th June – Tanjong Beach, Sentosa

Time: 8.30am to 9.30am

Description:

Open Water Swim Trial*

Compulsory for participants with no open water swimming experience

Date: 9th September – East Coast Park

Time: 8.00am to 9.30am

Description:

To ensure that participants wishing to take part in the Singapore International Triathlon are able to demonstrate a level of competency to complete the swim course of their chosen race.

  • The swim trial is compulsory for all participants who have never swam in the open water. For relay teams, if the swimmer has never swam in the open water they must complete the swim trials.
  • There will be no more pool trials for this year; only open water swim trials. Participants must be able to complete their race distance in the open water to be able to qualify for the race.
  • Expert coaching advice, careful supervision as well as strict safety measures will be in place at the trials. A non-refundable admin fee of S$10 for each open water swim trial will be charged to the participant.
  • If you book a test and do not turn up, you will not be allowed to race.
  • The participants have to complete the Swim Trials Session according to the criteria:
    • Kids Distance: To swim 200m within 8 minutes
    • Youth and Mini Distance: To swim 400m within 15 minutes
    • Sprint and Junior Distance: To swim 600m within 30 minutes
    • Standard and Extended Distance: To swim 1200m within 50 minutes

  • If you have yet to register for the event, please select “Swim Trial” under the merchandise page during registration.
