Q: If I only wish to attend only selected clinics, may I do so?
A: Yes, it is entirely up to you to decide which clinic you wish to participate in.
Q: Can I sign up on the spot?
A: No. This will not be possible.
Q: How do I make payment for the training clinic(s)?
A: online registration coming soon.
Q: What do I have to bring for the training clinic(s)?
A: Please refer to the above “Equipment” paragraph in the Public Training Programme
Q: What should my level of swimming be if I am taking part in the clinic?
A: You are required to be able to swim 200m freestyle comfortably in a pool environment.
Q: I / my child is a good / strong / competitive swimmer, why is it that swimming in the sea still seems so difficult?
A: Swimming in open water requires different skills compared to swimming in a still water environment. With practice and tips from experienced coaches with an open water background, these fundamentals will be easily picked up with a little time.
Q: Will bicycles be provided for bike training clinic(s)?
A: No. Please bring your own bicycle that you will be using for the event. If you do not own a bicycle, do look for a local bike shop to rent a bike that you would use during the clinics and race.
Q: May I wear casual sneakers if I do not own a pair of trainers?
A: No, it is advisable to have proper running shoes as sneakers may cause injuries due to insufficient cushioning and support.
Q: I am a beginner and never done a triathlon before, do I need to buy proper Triathlon gear?
A: No, just wear comfortable and light sport clothes.
Q: What if there is inclement weather on training clinic(s)?
A: The training sessions will always run whatever the weather. A training session will only ever be cancelled if participants are at risk, for example dangerously close lightning or high speed winds. The decision will be made on the spot at the leading coach's discretion.
Q: Will refreshments be provided at the training clinic(s)?
A: No, please have your meals well before and bring along sufficient fluids/gels/bars for the sessions.
Q: Apart from the OSIM Singapore International Triathlon Training Clinics, what other avenues of training are available?
A: Please check with our Event Training Partner, TBC, for other training options.
